Ὅτι ὑμῖν δέδοται γνῶναι τὰ μυστήρια τῆς βασιλείας τῶν οὐρανῶν, ἐκείνοις δὲ οὐ δέδοται.
To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
Mt 13:11
God shouts some things so that all are without excuse,
but whispers other things that only those intimately close to Him will hear.
The Kingdom of heaven has “mysteria,” secrets, which some will see and hear and receive, but most will not. For example, Scripture intentionally shrouds the mystery that the Beast of the Earth’s days are numbered, just as are the Beast of the Sea’s (cmp. the explicit statement in Rev 13:5 with the veiled one in verse 18). But what does it mean that the days of these two beasts both are both numbered? — Ah, well that’s another layer to the mysteria, isn’t it!
Hence, among the 200 or so Biblical passages1 that speak about “seeking” the Lord and His will and His ways and His kingdom, there are numerous promises that those (implying only those?) who seek Him with all their heart will find Him.
